over for another year

Dont you just love christmas but before you know it we will be wrapping pressies and writing cards we never post !!!!!!

What a great day we had. Archie had a bit of a cry in the morning and wouldnt come into the livingroom as he wanted his bobo but after 5 mins he eventually came running into the livingroom and forgot about his bottle of milk for about 2 mins !!!!!! He ran in and the first thing he saw was his tinky winky but I dont think he realised all the presents were for him as there was just so much although the packaging does take up quite a bit of space for some toys so once all the packaging was away it didnt look like he had got as much as we originally though ( although still too much )

Archie woke about 7am and I went through to the livingroom to wait for him while Mark went to get him up with his cow cup and it took him 3 hours to open all his presents. Not due to the amount but he was really good and playing with everything as he opened them. About 12pm my mum and Haley and Graham came up to see us for a few hours and to have a few drinks ( I was sober all day as was driving ) then Isa and Andy came up about 1pm before we headed off to bonnyrigg to Davy and Pams for the day. Archie was in his element with his cousins and Jay the dog. We had a lovely meal then at about 7.20 Archie advised me he wanted his bath then to go to bed. He fell asleep about 8pm and we left him there until 9pm when we picked him up and put him in the car.

I got so spoiled it was unbelievable - I got far mroe than I expected -

Victoria's secret PJ's ( cheers Haley )

Terry Pratchett book

£100

Girls Aloud CD

dressing gown

more jammies

2 x slippers

100ml chanel perfume and body lotion

Victoria's secret knickers

soap and glory smellies

£30 voucher for beauty salon

chocolates

So very chuffed with all my pressies

I couldnt list all of archie's presents but his fav seems to be the £3.00 cars I got him !!!!! I now know better than to spend lots of money on him and in future will just get him lots of cars !!!

Boxing day - we had the meal and I must admit it was delicious even if I did cook it myself. We had Roast potatoes, Roast carrots and Parsnips, chicken breast cushions stuffed with sage and onion stuffing and of course, brussel sprouts. Does anyone actually eat them at any other time than Christmas ??????

Myself, mum and Haley had been at the sales in the morning and I ended up with a new goose feather duvet, goose feather pillows ( wasn't planning on buying them but they were reduced from £32 to £16 each - bargain ) 2 pairs of new boots and a handbag so done well. Mum got 2 pair of boots as well as loads of other stuff for her house but the queue in Next where she got stuff for her house was terrible. It took us about 30 mins to get served and all I got in next was a £3 table runner !!!!

Archie has been doing OK with his cow cup although still asks for his old bobo and one morning he asked if santa had put it back under the tree yet !!!!! I found the valve for the cow cup so he has to suck the milk out of it and it seemed to work a treat as last night he was sleeping within 15 mins rather than the 75 mins the previous night it took him to settle. Mum has just been up and dropped off another 2 cow cups for us.

I will finish off with some photos of us over the festive.

Hope you all had a great day and got loads of presents

Countdown

Well the wee man is now having his last bottle of milk and will be sleeping in about 10 mins ( hopefully as my mulled wine will be getting cold ). Santa is coming to take all Archie's bottles away to give them to the babies and will give Archie some toys instead of his bottles. Hopefully it will work although I can imagine it being a nightmare the next few days !!!!!!!

The plan for tonight is

Open my christmas eve present ( jammies no doubt ) from haley
Watch It's a wonderful Life
Put out Archie's presents in the livingroom just before we go to bed
wrap marks present ( I forgot to wrap one of them oops )
Move the bottles that are all wrapped up for santa to 'take' - could you imagine what would happen if I forgot to move them !!!!
re-polish 2 nails as I had to move something before they had dried
put self tan on
drink more mulled wine
eat the mince pie on the fireplace and drink the milk( although Archie nearly finished it already )
sweep the floor in my kitchen and give it a quick clean ( the floor everything else is done )
and relax...........................

I alway make sure I am in bed before midnight ( apart from the years we go to the midnight service ) but since having archie you could never tell previously when he would wake in the morning. Last year was 9.30am although this morning was 7.15am so will settle with that.

The elves left a little pressie for archie while he was in the bath. Some fleecy jammies and the night before christmas book. He was in the bath and I got the bells out although not sure he was too impressed as he cuddled into me and told me to tell the elves to go away hehe

Anyway I am off to have my last browse through the web before I have to go and sort everything out so I hope santa is good to you and you all get lots of nice pressies

Lots of love and merry christmas

christmas journal

is not off to a good start !!!!!!!!

So far I have only done 2 ( yes I repeat 2 pages) in 17 days. My excuse is I dont have my photos so cant possibly do them but really I am just being lazy as I can use photos from last year so note to self - get more pages done - at last another 3 before christmas day !!!!!!!!!

had a great few days. We went down to Telford to Mark's works do on friday and stayed in this gorgeous room with wooden beams. We thought they had mixed our room up with the bog bosses as it was so nice. we slept in though until 10.30 ( never went to bed until after 3am ) so missed our breakfast which wasnt too great with a hangover but made up for that later when we stopped at a service station and had a costa coffee ( or something very similar ) where we had yummy bacon toasted sandwiches .

Archie was staying at his grans on saturday night so we had the house to ourselves and he wasnt due back until late Sunday afternoon so we had another lie in on sunday - I havent had a lie in like this for years ( well 2 1/2 ) so it was a pleasent experience.

Not much else to say but will add the 2 photos of my journal so far. I wil use the bind it all at the next crop so will really need to get going with the pages !!!!!

I have also added a photo of archie's santa sack that I thought I would never fill ( OMG that boy ahs far too many toys and all he wants is a filmore ( from cars ) a Ninky Nonk and an upsy daisy book. I maybe should have just got him that and saved myself a fortune !! ah well I can always do that next year

Oh christmas tree..............

After trying to wait until next week to put our tree up, Archie has talked us into putting it up already. He went out with Gran and Paw on Wednesday and asked them if mummy and daddy will put his tree up soon so we thought we had better put one up soon.

So far he has been really good and hasn't taken any decorations off but will stroke the fluffy ones. It is just such a great feeling when the tree goes up as I always think it doesn't feel like christmas until the tree is up. There is nothing better than sitting in the livingroom with all the lights out apart from the tree.

I have nearly wrapped all my pressies and just need to buy a bottle of whisky and a cd then its all finished. My plan of action over the next few days is

sort all the clean clothes that are in a pile in my bedroom

Iron Archie's clothes that are in this pile !!!!!

finish writing christmas cards

finish wrapping presents

Do some pages for my christmas journal ( still only done one page and that isnt really finished yet !!)

I have added a few photos of my chrsitmas decorations just to get me in the festive mood, not that I need it as I LOVE this time of year

its official. I am now 33 yrs old !!!!

Had a great day yesterday. Got some lovely pressies, the usual DVD's and some Terry pratchett books ( good Omens and the Hogfather ) and also got some lovely charms from my sister and mum from Links of London to go on my sweetie bracelet ( photo added along with the gorgeous box it came in, dont you just love having a birthday in December ) which I just love.....

Myself, Haley and mum went to see White Christmas at the playhouse last night and it was fantastic although I think haley lost the plot a bit as she hasn't even seen the film so think I will need to be giving her a borrow. I though everyone had seen White Christmas !!!!!!!! We sprinted out as soon as it finished, pushing passed all the old buddies just so we could get to the taxi rank fast and I think we were just about the first ones at the taxi rank. Might be old but I can sure move when I need to hehe...

So what has been happening since I last updated.

Well obviously I am a year older

Archie has decided that all his teddies are called George !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not just one but EVERY one.

I found Archie UNDER his bed when he woke up crying after falling out. Lord knows how he got there as his bean bag is at the side of his bed. I walked into his room and couldnt find him but could hear him. Most confusing at 3am. I had to pull him out from under his bed which would have been quite funny at any other time of the day. Just not during the night. I had tried to explain to archie to shout ' fallen out of bed' when he falls out so we dont ignore him !!!!!!!

hhhmm not much else so will sign off as Archie's bath time.

take care

The start of my birthday weekend

It started a bit earlier than I would have liked. Been up since about 5am coughing and just as I was falling back to sleep archie woke up at 6.30am gggrrrr Anyway we went down town today and went for a meal at Grape. To be honest I have had better service in there before as it took us an age to get served and when you have a littlie you just want to order food as fast as possible so they dont get too restless. While in grape we bumped into Nadia, my old counter manager when I worked with Clarins and she was meeting Marielle who now works in Harvey Nics so it was great seeing them both. We had just about finished our lunch and beverage ( long vodka yum yum ) when my mum and haley walked in so they sat with us for a while then we left them to their meal and toddled off to the winter wonderland.

Archie has started watching the magic roundabout ( I bet he would never believe me if I told him I had magic roundabout wall paper in the 70's !!!!) so when he saw the carousel he was convinced it was the magic roundabout so Mark took him on. He loved it and wasnt too happy when he came off so a while later he went on again but at £2.50 per person it isnt cheap.

It was so cold today though so we just headed back about 3pm. We were really wanting to stay until it got a bit darker so archie could see the lights but we lost his blanket ( gutted as it was one he has had since he was born ) so we just popped on the bus and headed back.

Archie also had great fun choosing what to put on his advent calender - he settled for the train but keeps asking for it down and I keep having to try and explain that its not a toy and he can only put one thing on a day ( Bit hard to try adn explain that to a 2yr old though )

Sunday I am planning to go the the craft fair but WILL NOT spend lots of pennies. I will get my secret santa for the dec crop and a few bits for my crimbo journal and that will be all.

Anyway, I am off to heat up as freezing

christmas cards

here are some of the cards I have been making to send out - hopefully I will get round to posting them this year !!!!!!!!

Holiday

I am off on holiday today and since I cleaned most of my house yesterday I decided I will just relax today, well kind of.

I dropped off some crop stuff to Kat this morning and what a nightmare that was. I am terrible with street names or places in edinburgh so took me an age to find her house but on the way back only took me about 20 mins.

I have just put on some crimbo tunes through Itunes ( festive eh !!!) and am allowing myself 30 mins on the web before I have to wax my legs ( ouch)

Dropped archie off at nursery about 9am and paid for the singing kettle where he is going next Thursday with the Nursery. I have also booked him to go and see the wizard of oz on the 20th. He has a better socail life than me !!!!!

Archie fell out of bed AGAIN last night and Mark had to give him a cuddle to get him back to sleep so it was about midnight I eventually fell asleep then he woke at 1am ( bad dream?) and I just went in, tucked him in and he fell straight back to sleep but I was lying awake for about 30 mins after this so when Marks alarm went off at 6.30am this morning I was shattered. Early to bed tonight I think.

Got my tickets for Ingilston craft fair so will go on Sunday with Haley and Archie as I cant get a babysitter as Mark is off to the boxing. He better be fit on the Monday as its my birthday ( 33 OMG how did that happen )

Archie has chosen my birthday cake. He originally wanted a thomas the tank engine cake but somehow I talked him out of it so he has went for a cake with balloons on it ( I was wanting a Scooby Doo cake but you had to have eaten it by 2nd dec which is one day too early)

Anyway better make the most of my 30 mins on UKS

Take care

so far so good

Archie seems to be really enjoying his bed and has been sleeping better than ever in it.

He is going downa about 7.20pm and getting up about 8am and this morning he woke at 5.50am and I could hear him shout on me through the monitor so after a fwe mins I went through to see him and the wee scone was lying on the floor after falling out of bed so I put him back in and covered him up. he asked for a bobo so I went off the get a bottle of milk, gave him it in bed and went back to mine and didnt hear anything from him again until 8am so looks like this could be ( fingers crossed ) his new wake up time although bit concerned how I will manage on the day he goes to nursery as we usually leave about 7.50am !!!!!!

I have taken today and thursday off as a holiday with the plan to go crimbo shopping but some how I have managed to get most of it in ( and even started wrapping it ) so I am cleaning my house - looks like I am busy eh !!!! Archie is away with his gran and tomorrow I will take him to Nursery and then will hand in my order for my crimbo dinner at the butchers. I also need to hand some crop stuff into Kats on Thur but havent a clue where she lives so that will be fun ( not) as I need a sat nav to find my way out my street

Anyway I suppose I should have some lunch then finish my house before my buba comes back

Take care

new bed

here is the only photo of archie and his new bed. I only managed to get one photo before my camera died so will get some more

cant believe my boy is in a big bed now ,sob
I have also added a photo of archie wearing my mums new glasses and a photo taken at blackford pond recently.

squeek squeek

Arrrggghhh juts discovered I have a mouse in my house. This is the first one in 2 years. The cates used to bring them in all the time but since we moved we only have the cat flap opening outwards so they cant come in when they want so god only knows how the little blighter has got it............. I could hear it chew paper so got my two cats in but they were so dis-interested I was ashamed !!!!!!!!! Imagine having 2 cats and not one of them showing any interest at all .......... After trying to catch it I am sure it ran into my fireplace but have taken the front off and cant find it so dont know where it was. I had to bin all my scrapping mags that were down there as they were covered in mouse droppings and wee - eurgh and have disinfected everywhere. I found a little nest made out of paper as well so hopefully I caught it in time before it gave birth. It must be a brave mouse though as once my cats get hold of them they dont let go.

On a much brighter note, my boy is in his big bed and has slept amazingly well in it. He went in it on friday night after I had made it up ( and mark came in to check it was safe - yep think I can manage to put up a bed mark ) He went down at 8pm and slept until 8.30am on saturday and last night he went down at 7.15pm and slept until 8.00 am ( well apart from being awake for about 1hr during the night due to a bad dream ) so all in all he seems to really like it and he looks so comfy. Iwas really worried about him being cold as I stopped using his grobag as thought if he went walking he could hurt himself but he lies all snuggled under his covers all night long. He may just not have realised he can get out of his bed yet but hopefully he will stay in his bed all night.

We also went to see santa at teh Gyle on friday. Archie was so excited to go and see santa until he actually saw him then he started clinging on to my legs and telling me to go. I eventually managed to get him to sit near santa and tell him what he wanted and the conversation went like this

Me - Archie you need to tell santa what you would like for christmas or he wont know what to bring
Archie ( while cuddling into me and not looking at santa ) A Ninky nonk and an upsy daisy book, go mummy go hurry

Ah bless I am sure it will be so different next year.

We went to cameron toll yesterday and they have a santa and Archie asked if he could go and see him so may take him in a few weeks and get his photo taken with santa. I also got him the night before christmas book and he keeps asking when its christmas time. Think next year I wont mention it until a week before !!!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

the weekend

is made for shopping and I am just off out to do some. Had to go down to Princess St with Haley yesterday to change Archie's LaLa for a Tinky Winky gggrrrrr. I went to the Fort and got a deal on the 3 for 2's and got archie a free teletubbie that woudl have been £25 but they didnt have tinky winky so I got La La but oh no this was not good enough and Archie informed me I had to get Tinky Winky instead of La La. So off we trailed yesterday to get him a Tinky Winky and I managed to get the last one in the shop phew.......... They had also sold out in Boots of all the In the night garden toys. How glad am I that I bought mine ages ago. Archie played with Tinky Winky all the way home on the bus and kept pressing his hand so he played that awful tune but I told him when we got hom mummy was posting it to Santa and he was fine with this.

Mark is in his bed with the sickness bug me and Archie have had over the last week. So the plan is today to go food shopping after Roary the racing car ( 9.10am) then when we come back go to the Fort and get some crimbo pressies for my nephews. I am getting Frazer either jeans or a fleecy top ( my orders from his mum ) and Glen wants some books on Dogs or animals so will get him a top or something to go with that. I also really need to get Archie gloves as his little hands were freezing yesterday down town but dont think he likes the mitten ones so need ones with fingers.

Monday there is even more shopping on the cards as I am tqaking Julie and Jamie crimbo shopping as she doesnt have her car just now. What a nightmare that must be not being able to get to the shops to do your crimbo shopping. I think she is getting Jamie an easel as well so I have said that rather than her trying to get all her stuff in my car if she tells me what one she wants I will go off out and buy it and bring it through the next time I am coming to her bit.

Anyway better go and get ready to go shopping.

Have a great weekend

Lisa xx

Its been a long time

Since I last updated. Oops. I just never seem to have a minute these days......

Just a quick update of what has been going on.....

Archie has started nursery and goes every thursday. Today was his 5th time and the wee scone was trying so hard not to cry... God it breaks my heart to see him like this when I leave but I know that 10 mins later he is playing away. He has also really calmed down on the scratching and pulling hair. I went to see Julie and Jamie last week and poor Jamie is petrified of Archie but Archie was really well behaved and only bashed him over the head with a car. there was no hair pulling or scratching so hopefully this is him realising its naughty ( and probably to do witht he fact that he has came back from nursery with a bite and scratch so looks like someone is doing it to him and he doesnt like it )

I have eventually finished my christmas cards and it has taken me two ( yes i repeat 2 ) crops to do them !!!!!! I will take some photos as proof that I do actually do some crafting stuff although TBH I still enjoy the shopping part most at the moment.

Ahhhh christmas. Not long now. I have finished shopping for all archies pressies. He is getting a double easle with chalks, paints, crayons and pencils and loads of papers, an Iggle piggle that you press its belly and it makes several different sounds, loads of books ( think I went a bit mad with books but was always getting them when they had offers on them ) Noddy train, some bob the builder vehicles, some DVD's, a cars plate set and from santa he is getting a Ninky Nonk and an In the night garden book. Going to go shopping the end of November to get all of everyone elses crimbo pressies. Dont you just love shopping.

Archie gets pocket money from his grandpa so he had £42 for him saved up and I was going to get Archie the Moon in my room from ELC so asked Grandpa if he would get Archie it so they went off out yesterday and got him it. he just loves the moon and makes us take him outside morning and night to look for it. The moom in your room is fab. It goes through all the different phases of the moon and you can change it yourself or set it to manual and it glows like the real moon so its like a nightlight. We were supposed to be putting archie in his big boys bed last saturday but he hadnt been well so he is still in his cot but I thought that I could just leave the moon on in his room ( on the smallest phase ) and if he needs to get up during the night he wont trip up over anything once he is in his big boys bed.

He is also using the potty really well although as yet refuses to do a No2. He will quite happily do a wee and then gets really excited so once he does a no2 we will start potty training him.

Anyway off now to have a browse for glow in the dark stars as want to put them in archies stocking for crimbo.

lots of love

Lisa xx

what a busy weekend........

Its like waiting on a bus.... you wait for ages then 3 come at once.

On friday night we went to see the Happy mondays at the corn exchange and I can honestly say they were amazing. I have seen then quite a few times ( old school !!!!!!!) the first time was in 89 when I was 15 and they were so much better than I remembered. Some of their new stuff was really good although you cant been the old classics ( 24 hour party people and Halleluijah ) was a bit dissapointed though as Sean Ryder stormed off as someone threw a drink over him and didnt do an encore so we didnt get to hear Wrote for luck............. ah well some things never change. It was so funny going in as we bumped into loads of people we knew and I even ended up standing next to Kirsty's brother Kevin (my friend who emigrated) and didnt even notice him until he tapped me on the shoulder.

Then last night we were out at our friends wedding. It was at the Norton house hotel and Carrie looked amazing. We had a great night and it was one of those nights were you hadnt seen people for ages and stood all nigth blethering. I was driving ( and no I am not pregnant ) as just cant seem to handle a late night and drinking.

Got to rush off now as my boy has just arrived home

see ya

hurrah its the weeken

thanks god. I though it would never come. Having a quiet night tonight and really should prepare for the crop tomorrow but dont have a clue what I am going to do. I feel such a non-scrapper just now and have no inspiration at all. May just do some cards.........

So what has been happening this week....... well archie does his first wee in a potty (yipee). He had his nappy off and asked for the potty so I went away and got it thinking here goes he will just run about with it on his head. I asked him if he wanted to sit down on it but he said NO and stood over it and done a pee. he was so chuffed that a minute later he sat down and he was really trying hard to do another pee ( bless ) but he couldnt manage it. Now I really dont think this will happen again for another few months and I am not going to rush him into anything although no nappies would be fantastic.

He is still pulling hair ( well more just grabbing and holding on not pulling ) which is really frustrating and because of this he gets put in the hall for timeout after a warning. ( not often might i add just incase someone reports me for child cruelty !!!!!) He now knows that when he has been bad to stand in the hall until mummy comes to get him and yesterday when he has been asked if he would like to stand in the hall he replied yes and toddled off and stood there for a minute then came back in and said 'so sozzy mummy'. Its really hard to get mad at him as he is just a wee pudding although I really wish this phase of pulling hair would end ( soon ).

His words are coming along really well and at night if he is lying in his cot you can her him saying bye bye trac tom (tractor tom), bye bye sally ( from cars) bye bye Mate (mater from cars ) and this goes on and on until he falls asleep. He has even started saying his own name if you ask him who he is 'Arhie' and his other favourite saying is 'chick bad crashes car' ( I think the boy watches too much tv esp cars dvd) He is starting to talk in sentences as well. I wub that boy

I got an email from kirsty ( who emigrated ) and it was great to hear from her. She is settling in really well so kirsty if you are reading this *waves*

I have attached a photo of me kirsty and julie on our last meet up

have a great weekend and will update you on what I actually got done at the crop when I get back x

I really need a cleaner......

Well I think I do anyway. LOL. Yesterday Archie went out for a few hours with his auntie haley and uncle graham so I done what I have been putting off for weeks ......................... I tidied my bedroom. It was embarassing to say the least. The rest of my house is always clean ( if a little messy with archie's toys everywhere) but I just never have the time ( or the courage ) to tidy my bedroom. There were piles of clean clothes that needed put away and you couldnt walk on the floor without standing on something ( I really sound like a minger but I am not - promise) It just got out of hand so now the result is all my clothes are put away, my windows are all cleaned, bedding changed and matress hoovered, floors washed and a bin bag of stuff binned. It is a total joy to be in it now. I even had my cushions on the bed which havent been on for ages. I got a few boxes from Ikea so there is stuff in it that I dont have room for ( ie bridesmaid dress )

The next thing I am going to do is sort out all my crimbo decorations int o a large box from ikea so they are all together as last year there were def a few things missing that I couldnt find so once this is done they will be easilly accessable.

Went to Jenners today as they have a sale in the toy department so got a few pressies for christmas ( not for archie as I have been buying him stuff every month so only really to buy him his main pressie which will be a chalk board ) got a huge lightening McQueen (for Jamie)which was reduced from £20 to £10 and a few other things that were in the sale as well - more just stocking fillers, Postman Pat and Noddy magnets, a few tractors.

Back to work tomorrow after a week off ( not trhough holidays just the way my shifts have worked out) - Oh Joy. Will meet up with Kat though and get the crop prizes for the crop on saturday. I will really need to think about what I will do on saturday as feel I am becoming more of a card maker than a scrapper as never have time to do any LO's. I really must make time and finish a few LO's I have started but arent quite finished

Anyway I am off to serve dinner ( chicken and baked potatoes ) and will maybe send mark to the shop for some chocolate ( time of the month )

Toothache..........

Ouch. I have been in agony for days now and think I may have had my quota of pain killers recently. I have had the worst toothache I can ever remember having. Archie woke during the night and so I got up to give him a wee cuddle but once he was down I lay for what seemed like hours trying to get to sleep but no matter which way I lay, I felt like someone was sticking hot pokers into my jaw and eye so got up, took some painkillers then eventually fell asleep about an hour later. Had to go to work this morning but was sitting at my desk in immense pain so decided enough was enough and went to the emergency dentist. I got taken withing 30 mins so was well chuffed. It was a tooth that I cracked years ago when I was eating polos so only have half a tooth. Its at the back at the top so have never got it crowned but just cant afford a crown just now so think it will have to be a filling in the meantime as was planning on getting all my bottom fillings ( 4 ) changed to the white fillings in the next few months. At least I can drink now as before as soon as any liquid/food touched it, I would get shooting pains right up the side of my head.

I can honestly say that the only pain worse that toothache is labour !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also decided as well that I really must get some scrapping done as have done nothing recently apart from make cards. I have loads of photos printed of Archie's birthday so will need to do a few LO's at the next crop in a few weeks time,

I am going to have a few G&T's tonight even though I am going out on saturday to celebrate my BIL's 40th. Think there is about 30 couples going so we are all having something to eat in La monde ( is that the name of it ) in George Street then off somewhere else. Archie is staying with his gran & grandpa and his cousin Glen is also staying so archie will be luvin it as he just adores Glen.

Looking forward to getting glamed up as just normally trapse about in jeans and T-shirts with no make up on and since archie will be leaving us early afternoon, I will have about 5 hours just to pamper myself.

Hope you all have a good weekend

take care

Harry Potter

I have had a full on Harry Potter weekend. Finished the last HP book and went to the cinema with my mum last night to watch the order of the Pheonix which I though was fantastic. The last book was great although was a bit dissapointed with the ending ( won't spoil it for those that haven't read it)

Its a great excuse to get out with my mum as Mark refuses to go to the cinema to watch Harry Potter so me and my mum always get to go out on our own for a while.

I went to Costco today to get some photos of archies birthday and haleys wedding printed off so I have framed one of mark and archie and put it up in our hall. Got a few essentials as well while I was there ( about 40 kitchen rolls - I havent a clue why we go through so many !!!! & cat food) Could have spent ages walking around but as mark was there it was a quick in and out visit

Thought I was going to have to return my ipod as it had frozen but once I let the battery run out it worked fine once I charged it again so added more songs. I now have about 250 songs on it so only got another 750 to go !!!!!!!!!! I also got the greatest little gadget at the weekend for my ipod. Its a little radio transmiter that you plug in to your ipod then play your music through your radio in the car. It must be the most amazing gadget ever ( or am I just really easily pleased !!!!!!)

On friday myself and julie went through to see Kirsty who is jetting off to Oz to stay so it was a bit tearful when we were leaving her. I couldnt really get a chance to speak to her properly as archie was running about mad and pulling at jamie's face so couldnt leave him alone for more than 2 seconds without him trying to get hold of Jamie. I cant believe she is really going but think she is soooo brave for making this move but I think she will find it hard to start with as she is so close with all her family. She is certainly braver than I could be. I just dont think I could even move to england as would feel so far away from my family. She will be well and truly missed but I hope she finds all the happiness she deserves in Oz. I will add a photo of myself, Kirsty and Julie once I have uploaded it onto my pc.

Anyway I am off to realx now as just had an Indian and am totally stuffed. I really must make a thank you card tonight ( or will it be really bad if I buy one ) as one of our neighbours knows archie is thomas daft so handed in an old Thomas the Tank engine toy for him as her little ones dont like thomas anymore. He is still playing with all his Thomas engines and loves the books but thankfully he has stopped watching the dvd and has moved onto Cars ( which is fab). There was only so many times I could watch Thomas the tank engine. His other fav films are still Polar express ( train daft my boy) and Lady and the tramp ( loves dogs ) so we do get the odd new film to watch every now and again but today I actually got him to watch some of harry potter just so he could see the train - Is it a boy thing or should I start worrying now about him LOL.

Hope you all had a great weekend and will update soon

xx

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Scott

well Haley has finally got married. Everyone had sucha an amazing day and Haley looked stunning. Unfortunately the wedding planner had my camera so I couldn't get the photos I wanted but I got some ( only once we were all drunk !!!!)

Haley, myself and mum stayed at the hotel the night before and had a lovely meal then retired to our suite and had some G & T's. Haley went off to bed ( I think she was a wee bit tipsy ) and the three of us slept in the biggest bed I have ever seen. It was 3 pillows wide with room enough for the three of us ( just as well as there was only meant to be 2 of us staying haha) Haley woke in the morning and was surprisingly calm so once our breakfast arrived ( cooked breakfast with just about everything else off the menu ) she started tucking into the cooked breakfast but I think the nerves got the better of her eventually and she couldn't eat anymore ( whereas I on the other hand could have eaten hers as well !!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I dont think she got really nervous until she put her dress on and she looked stunning. Couldn't belive this was my baby sister, she looked so elegant.

As for my boy, he was a little dandy in his kilt. Will add some photos but haley has more on bebo ( is that how you spell it as never been on it before) although haley has told me that all her photos are on there now so will have to steal some. It was an amazing day and evening and I wish them many years of happiness to come xx

Two years old already...

where has the time gone. My little baby has turned 2 ( well on Thursday last week but it has been a busy busy week) He was totally spoiled and got some lovely pressies.

In the morning the plan was to go to Gorgie city farm but as usual in scotland it was pouring with rain so we ended up sitting about in our jammies watching dvd's (Cars, lady & the tramp & Tractor Tom) then in the afternoon we had a few people round ( Granny Mac, gran, granpa, Auntie Pam, frazer, Glen & kerr and my sister) Most of the pressies were Thomas the tank engine as he just loves them but he also got a little tikes car from gran and granpa and a shoot and thomas scooter from Granny Mac. I had spotted a cake in Asda a few weeks ago that was a thomas the tank engine so rather than getting a cake made ( or attempting to make one myself haha) we got him this. He absolutely loves having his cousins round and was in his element playing with them. He really does love his cousins. I will add some photos of his birthday and also a photo of when he was born as I cant believe how big he is getting. Love you Bubs and happy birthday xx

technology nightmare !!!!!!!!!!!!

AAAaarrrgggghh why do things have to be so complicated or is it just that I am a Techno phobe ( god I sound like I am 93 !!!!!!!!!)

here is my new baby. An IPOD nano 4gb ( holds 1000 songs ) ................... or should that be if I can get the music on to it. What a nightmare. Last night I got 42 songs on it and today after downloading some cd's onto my pc I tried to add them and now I have just about the whole content of my library on it. Bob the builder and the Balamory theme tune is definately not something I want to be listening to but somehow it has copied just about everything ggggrrrrr.

I cant believe I have never bought one before now as I love music. Definately showing my age now LOL.

Haley will pop up later to try and sort it as I really dont have a clue and the instructions are total pants..................

So fingers crossed after today I will be able to listen to the music I actually want on it........

LO

just adding a photo of one of the LO's I started at the crop last month and have only just got finished. Does that make me a really slow scrapper LOL !!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Mum

Just a quick post today as we are off out for my mums birthday. I am meeting my mum and Helys at the Grapes in George Street then having something for lunch. Here is a card that I made for my mum this morning ( I thought I had a card made for her but couldnt find it !!!!!!) Got round to using some of my DCWV papers that I have had sitting for ages. I really must make some more cards so they are there ready to use.

Archie is spending the day with his gran and grandpa and they are off to the park so he will have a great time with them today.

Have a great weekend......

No more afternoon sleeps..........

Well after our few late nights with Archie who refused to go to sleep until 9.30 pm ( how can a little person be so strongwilled !!!!!!!!) I dropped his afternoon sleep and this resulted in him going to sleep at 7.30pm and waking at 7am .............. BUT yesterday while out for a walk he fell asleep.......... well last night we had another 9.30pm bedtime then he woke at 6.30am this morning so only had 9 hours sleep. I took him to the shops this morning and he fell asleep in the car just as I was about home ( literally 30 seconds from the house ) and nothing would waken him. There are road works right outside my front window and the noise they were making was unbelievable and he still slept through it as I got him out of his car seat and into the house. I let him have a 20 min nap on the couch but this boy really does power nap as tonight it was 8.30pm before he went to sleep so back to the plan of not letting him sleep during the day. Hopefully he will have a good sleep tonight and sleep in tomorrow as it will be just me & him as his daddy is away to Amsterdam early in the morning (stag do) Even if he doesnt sleep in tomorrow I am going to plan my day so we dont go anywhere in the buggy or car when he is tired to get him back into not having a nap. There was just no way I could have kept him awake today as he was sooo tired. My wee lamb. Anyway with hubby being away I may actually get some scrapping done or even finish my key holder this weekend ( as long as Archie is in bed for 7.30pm LOL )

ZZzzzzzzzzzz

I have been having problems with Archie's sleeping recently and wasnt sure if he was ready to drop his afternoon nap so today I thought I would see how he went without a nap. He was OK although did pull poor Ewan's hair when they were out playing so for that he went in the naughty corner ( which seems to be working quite well ) I brought him in for his dinner which he ate then gave him an apple which is when I thought he was being a bit quiet and he was actually dozing off while eating his apple. I took him out of his chair and put him on the couch where he was totally asleep so I left him for 30 mins............. so much for dropping his nap during the day. He went down no problem tonight as well where as the last few nights he didnt settle until about 9pm. This photo is the end result. I also took a few videos so will try and add one !!!!!!!!

Ouch....

I am soooooo sore from the Go-Karting at the weekend. I really feel like I have been in a car crash. Not sure what to do today but think it will involve walking with Archie ( ie him walking not being pushed )

Last night I put Archie down to bed at 8.00pm and he had a little gurn but then his daddy walked passed his bedroom (grrrrr) and all hell broke loose. It then took us ( eh !!!!!! mark as I told him it was his fault Archie wasnt settling) until 9pm to settle him but the wee pudding did sleep until 8am today xxxxxxx I am just not really sure if Archie is ready to drop his afternoon nap so he will be really tired at 8pm as I dont want to keep him up any later ( although the long lie was fabby hehe ) so might try today, although sometimes depending on what he has done he can sleep for 2 hours during the day and then go to bed at 8pm no bother, but this is usually when the wee rascal has got up at 6.30am. Will play it by ear today and if he yawns might let him have a wee nap but wake him after 45 mins.

Anyway I am off to get ready to go out so will leave you with a photo of my gorgeous wee chappy and one of him and his daddy xx

Happy Fathers Day

here is what Archie kindly got his daddy for Father's day & he even made his daddy a card hehe...................

Haley's Hen day part two ........

what a great night we had last night although I am feeling a little tender today ( due to amount of alcohol we consumed but also sore from the go-karting !!!!)

We had a lovely meal where we sat from about 7pm - 10pm then went off to a club where we had a bottle of champagne (£75 a bottle OMG ) then went and sat in the VIP area. The only thing I liked in the VIP area was that you got served quickly at the bar but to be honest I like sitting with everyone else. We were up dancing loads and it was a lot of old school tunes from when we were younger so it was great fun. Felt like I was 20 again hehe

I had to wave the white flag at 1.30 as just couldnt manage to drink anymore so myself, Haley, Shona and Kirsty got a taxi home ( which is quite a hard thing to do on a saturday night when all the bars are closing ). Haley has found a sneaky way of getting a taxi quickly is to call them and dont tell them you are outside a club but give them a door number then wait outside the door for the taxi to come ....... sneaky eh !!!!!!!!!!

Anyway not really in the mood for chatting so here are some photos from last night

Haley the bride to be is in the coral dress............ she loved her whip from ann summers and her handcuffs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haley's Hen day part one.....

For the first part of haley's hen day we went go-karting out in Livingston and what a laugh we had. I have never been before and would thoroughly recommend it for anyone who has not been. We had 3 x 20 lap races then a final where usually the final 6 go through but as there were only 7 of us they let us all into the final. I crashed my car (after someone clipping the back of me !!!!!) so I came last as once someone laps you, its so hard to catch up although I think my quickest lap was about 20.68 secs so not bad. Overall though I came joint fourth with my mum so chuffed I never came last overall hehe

Now its just off to get ready for tonight. We are all meeting at 5.30 in a pub then our meal is booked for 7pm and after that we are off clubbing it. Here are some photos of part one of the day and tomorrow I will try ( if not too hungover !!!!) and update with some photos of tonight.

I got Haley a bottle of champers for getting ready so hopefully she wont be too drunk when she comes over for me

Have a great weekend xx

I am sooooo tired (yawn)

I cant believe how tired I am today. I didn't go to bed late (10.30pm) and was up at 7am but feel like I have had about 4 hours sleep. I think it may be the muggy heat we have although it rained almost all of last night. I woke up and listened to the rain for ages. I just love the sound of rain as long as I am not out in it.

I was working today and really couldnt be bothered with it. I really should have went to the gym tonight ( got to drop a dress size for Haley's wedding ) but will go on Thur instead when Mark gets in from work. I have recently joined the gym at my work for 6 weeks for £20. I thought I would see how I get on using it, and if I use it a lot then will join ( monthly £17.50) I went on Monday and it was really hard although not really sore - does that mean I didnt work hard enough !!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a sadder note, my friend Kirsty, who I have known since I was 12, has booked her flights to go to Oz with her daughter and hubby. She is leaving us on the 31st July. I cant believe she is doing this but wish her all the luck and happiness and hope its everything she has hoped for. She is really brave as I know I couldnt do this. Unfortunately I wont be able to go to her leaving party as its on the same day as my sisters wedding but I will pop though to see her one day and take through some photos of when we were younger so we can have a laugh about them. I need to get them scanned then put onto a disk and then printed off. I was peeing myself when I was looking though these LOL.

Archie is fine but his favourite work at the moment is NO. You ask him if he wants something and he replies NO but then 2 mins later asks for whatever you asked him if he wanted. Also, his favourite programme is back on. In the night garden is a definate hit in this household and I though my boy loved Thomas.......... He screams as soon as In the night garden finishes and wants it back on. I really wish I had a recordable DVD player so I could tape them and just keep putting them on for him ...........

Right off to spend some time with hubby before I depart to bed.

Take care

Lisa x

My boys.....

Forgot to add a photo of my most recent LO. I haven't been able to do a LO for months so got my trusty Autumn Leaves idea book out and done a scraplift. Also got to play with my lush new AL stamps ( and borrowed Helen's Heidi Swapp 'smile' stamp) After completing this LO I cerainly feel I have my mojo back ( or is that just until the next LO I attempt LOL )

shopping.....my favourite thing

Just back from Princess Street shopping for an outfit for Haley's hen party on saturday.

I ended up getting a gorgeous gold top from coast and some gorgeous gold sandals from Dune. I have got a pair of black cropped trousers so will need to try it all on together. I was planning on getting high heels but then seen these flatties and thought I would get more wear out of them since I never go out anywhere nice to wear heels anymore.

I also got haley a whip and handcuffs from ann summers as she doesnt want dressed up ( ie tutu, tiara, L plates etc) so she said the most she will wear is a sash so got her one of those as well but just had to get her something ( and the whip is sooooo cool. May just have to steal it off her LOL) Looking forward to saturday and going go karting. We have booked Hadrians (part of the Balmoral) for about 6pm. We were meant to have a private room in the Balmoral but they wanted us to choose one meal for everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are then going off to George street and haley has got us on the guest list for a club ( OMG not been to a club in years ) wonder how I will cope with all the young things I am off out with ( well apart from my mum and her future MIL LOL) and on sunday its fathers day so Mark was feeling sorry for himself saying I wouldnt be able to spoil him on sunday as will be hungover until I kindly pointed out he was at the cup final on Mothering Sunday and left me alone from about 9am until late !!!!!!!!!!! He then decided there wasnt much he could say to that............ hehe

Anyway I am off to get Archie to have a snooze ( fingers crossed ) he wouldnt sleep yesterday but not sure if he is just about to drop his sleep as he goes to bed at 7.45pm/8pm then wakes about 7.30am whereas a few weeks ago for some reason he was waking at 6.15am every morning (yawn) but then having 2 hour sleep during the day to make up for it, then he changed back suddenly to his old routine so not sure if something had been bothering him

Take care ( especially Kat - hun just to say I am thinking of you both ) xx

Thomas...........

Before I forget here are some photos of our day out with Thomas and friends...............
